How Much Do Surrogate Mothers Make?

Becoming a surrogate mother is a generous and life-changing decision. At Modooboo Fertility Consulting, we deeply value the commitment of our surrogates and ensure they are fairly compensated. If you're considering surrogacy and wondering about the financial aspect, here's a brief overview of what surrogates can expect to earn at Modooboo.

Basic Compensation: $45,000 - $75,000

Our surrogates receive a base compensation ranging between $45,000 and $75,000. This amount is structured into monthly payments over 10 months post-confirmation of a fetal heartbeat via ultrasound. The first payment is made following pregnancy confirmation, with the remaining balance settled within two weeks of childbirth.

Monthly Allowance: $400/Month

In addition to the basic compensation, surrogates receive a monthly allowance of $400, amounting to $4,800 - $6,000 for 12-15 months. This non-accountable allowance covers incidental expenses like travel, meals, childcare during appointments, and over-the-counter products.

Additional Benefits and Bonuses

  • Injection Start Fee: $1,000, offered when injectable medication begins, with additional compensation for extra cycles if needed.

  • Miscarriage Fee: $800, in the unfortunate event of a miscarriage.

  • Cesarean Section Compensation: $5,000, covering additional requirements like childcare and housekeeping.

  • Maternity Clothing Allowance: $1,000 (singleton) or $1,200 (multiples) available at 20 weeks.

  • Invasive Procedure Inconvenience Fee: $600, for certain medical procedures during pregnancy.

  • Bonus: Ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, awarded post-delivery as a token of appreciation.

  • Loss of Reproductive Organs: Compensation ranging from $1,000 to $5,000, depending on the situation.

  • Long Distance Travel: $0.60/mile reimbursement for travel over 50 miles round trip.

  • Housekeeping Allowance: $300 per month during the 3rd trimester.

  • Breast Milk Compensation: $200/week, optional and based on agreement with the intended parents.

Comprehensive Insurance Coverage

Surrogates are provided with life insurance (up to $1,000 premium) and health insurance (up to $30,000, or $43,500 for twins), ensuring they are fully protected and supported throughout their journey.

The Bottom Line

At Modooboo Fertility Consulting, we are committed to supporting our surrogates not just emotionally and medically, but also financially. The compensation package reflects our appreciation for their invaluable role in bringing joy to families. If you are considering becoming a surrogate, rest assured that you will be well-compensated and supported every step of the way.
